Alessio Avezzano is a UK-based filmmaker recognized for his award-winning work and viral videos.
Born in Italy, and raised in Glasgow, Alessio began his career as a self-shooting documentary director. He then went on to gain popularity with his YouTube sketch series, "Mamahuhu," after which he became an established commercial director, working with notable brands such as Irn Bru, Ikea, BMW, Range Rover, Bacardi, Leica, and Porsche.
Alessio's commercial work was predominant until 2022, when he made his television debut as the writer and director of the BBC sitcom, "Isleanders." The pilot went on to win 'Best in Writing' at the Stareable Pilot Festival 2023 in NYC. He has since directed the viral short "Midgies" which got him nominated for the Rode Creator of The Year Award 2024.
